BAR SUPERVISOR- THE HANGING BAT
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Edinburgh
Pay: £14.01 an hour
Contracted hours: 30 hours per week

THE ROLE
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about creating great beer experiences and brilliant customer service at The Hanging Bat in Edinburgh. You’ll be part of a busy, fast-paced venue with a strong reputation for quality beer, great hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere, so we’re looking for someone who brings energy, enthusiasm and a real pride in what they do.
You’ll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the venue, from delivering excellent service and maintaining high bar standards, to supporting the wider team and ensuring The Hanging Bat is always a clean, safe and welcoming place for both customers and colleagues.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a high level of professionalism over the bar and in all correspondence.
- Follow event plans given by the manager.
- Safely and confidently handle kegs in a cellar environment.
- Maintain a high level of organisation and cleanliness in the building through audits, closedown checks and weekly/monthly logs.
- Assist in the maintenance and development of the venue when requested.
- Assist with all other areas of the venue as requested.
- Reply to messages on social media professionally and promptly if required by management.
- Plan and assist with whole venue events.
- Manage staff on shift.
- Work with the management team to drive up bar standards and ensure that wastage is kept to a minimum.
- Be knowledgeable and passionate about our product range and ensure customers receive a high standard of customer service.
- Be the first point of contact for staff during shifts and manage staff to ensure time is being used effectively.
- Take responsibility for bar service whenever required by management.
- Take sole responsibility for shifts as and when required by management, including site security and emergency situations.
- Always create a safe environment for staff and customers.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and licensing laws.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings when required and share best practice with the team.
- Assist with effective cellar management.
- Take charge of deliveries and ensure safe practices.
- Contribute to a team effort by completing other tasks as needed.
